MORGAN LOUDERMAN
Exploring Opportunities in New York City
Tam 4300 Project
TAM 4300 is a branding-focused course that explores the principles and strategies behind building, managing, and sustaining brand equity. Throughout the semester, we examined how brands connect with consumers, differentiate themselves in competitive markets, and adapt to industry trends. The course emphasized the importance of understanding target audiences, creating cohesive brand identities, and crafting compelling marketing strategies.
Through case studies, group projects, and class discussions, I gained hands-on experience in analyzing brand performance, developing brand extensions, and strategizing ways to strengthen a brand’s position in the market. This class not only deepened my understanding of branding but also enhanced my skills in research, critical thinking, and teamwork.

The Objective
This project is part of my coursework, where my group was tasked with analyzing a global brand and developing strategies to strengthen its position in the market. We chose Tommy Hilfiger, a brand renowned for its timeless American style and global appeal.
The Work
Our work began with an in-depth analysis of Tommy Hilfiger's brand identity, target audience, and competitive landscape. We conducted research to understand the brand’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and compared it to key competitors like Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and Levi’s. Using this data, we created a perceptual map to identify where Tommy Hilfiger stands in the market and proposed strategies to enhance its brand equity and differentiation.
As part of the project, we also examined Tommy Hilfiger’s product offerings, pricing, and marketing strategies to recommend ways to better connect with its audience and adapt to changing consumer preferences. This included exploring potential collaborations, refining marketing campaigns, and suggesting innovative product lines to appeal to emerging demographics.
The Outcome
Through this experience, I learned how to analyze a brand from multiple angles, identify gaps in the market, and propose actionable solutions. I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of competitive positioning, consumer insight, and effective marketing strategies. Working with a group also reinforced the value of collaboration, as we combined our diverse perspectives to create a cohesive and strategic project.
