MORGAN LOUDERMAN
Exploring Opportunities in New York City
1200 Group Project
Our team was assigned the task of developing a comprehensive adaptive apparel line from inception. Choosing the brand name "Youth Imagined," we specifically focused on crafting adaptive clothing for children with Cerebral Palsy. Youth Imagined is dedicated to providing accessible and adaptive apparel tailored to the unique needs of individuals living with Cerebral Palsy. Recognizing the financial challenges faced by families in this community, our primary objective is to offer affordable and adaptable clothing solutions. Youth Imagined is committed to maintaining a reasonable pricing structure, with items ranging from 10 to 30 dollars. The brand's target demographic encompasses parents of children aged 3-6 residing across the United States, aiming to address the specific clothing requirements of children with Cerebral Palsy.
Textile and Apparel
Management Showcase
In December 2022, my TAM 1200 group was selected to present our collective project at the Textile and Apparel Management Showcase. This event brought together esteemed TAM alumni and industry professionals, providing an invaluable opportunity to showcase our work to a knowledgeable and experienced audience. The experience of presenting our project to the community was truly exceptional, allowing us to share insights and engage with individuals deeply familiar with the textile and apparel management field.

Trend Report
Youth Imagined is inspired by trending neutral colors. We choose neutrals because they appeal to the parents of children with cerebral palsy as they are our main target market. Giving the simplistic look while making their kid look cute and trendy is what our apparel strives to appeal to. Preppy looks provide a key source of inspiration, taking cues from the generation Z fashion aesthetic trending on TikTok. The neutrals also fit in with our gender-neutral target market.
I have attached the full trend report below.

Digital
Storyboard
Our culminating assignment in TAM 2100 involved the creation and presentation of our digital storyboard. During this presentation, we provided in-depth insights into various elements, including our color and fabric selections, price-point considerations, selling season strategies, target market analysis, and the specific apparel category we focused on.
Below, you can find images from our detailed storyboard presentation.
What I learned
In undertaking the task of developing the Youth Imagined adaptive apparel line, I garnered a wealth of knowledge and skills. The collaborative nature of this project significantly honed my teamwork skills. Working alongside team members to focus on the specific needs of children with Cerebral Palsy required effective communication, ensuring that ideas and insights were shared seamlessly within the group. Recognizing the financial constraints of the target demographic, our commitment to offering affordable and adaptable clothing solutions emphasized both critical thinking and a dedication to social responsibility.
What I would do differently
In reassessing the Youth Imagined project, several strategic adjustments can be made for a more targeted and impactful outcome. Engaging with the cerebral palsy community through collaborative efforts ensures that the adaptive clothing aligns authentically with the daily experiences of those it seeks to serve. Expanding the size and age range of the adaptive clothing line can broaden its inclusivity, while introducing a diverse array of styles caters to different occasions and preferences. These adjustments collectively refine Youth Imagined's approach, ensuring a more customer-centric and impactful development of adaptive apparel for children with cerebral palsy.
